Fury over Fur on TV Show Down Under
Australian groups protest dead animals as head dresses
Animal protection groups across Australia are outraged over the latest episode of a TV competition featuring models wearing over-the-top fashions. In the “tribal-themed” show, contestants showed up wearing fur hats, coats and wraps.
In one particularly grotesque case, model Ruby Rose wore an entire skinned raccoon on her head.
One of the producers, Josh Flinn, told reporters: “I’m going to cop a lot of flak for the fur, but it’s vintage arctic fox to all the haters out there.”
