Natalie Portman to Make Vegan Movie
Natalie Portman is one of the few celebrity actors who embrace the animal protection world as a passionate cause (rather than as part hobby, part self-promotion).
A year ago, when she signed up as a fashion promoter for Dior, she insisted: No leather.
Now the word is out that she’s getting ready to make a movie promoting a vegan diet.
According to Just Jared, Portman is planning to be part of a documentary based on the book Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer.
“She wants to make a very personal documentary,” the author explained in an interview with the French site Chap. “She contacted me, she told me that she loved the book. I know her now. I will help her eventually but it will be her vision. She’s only at the very beginning.”
When the book was first published, the Oscar winning actress told the Huffington Post,
“Perhaps others disagree with me that animals have personalities. But the highly documented torture of animals is unacceptable, and the human cost Foer describes in his book, of which I was previously unaware, is universally compelling.”
