Pet Dog Shot at Airport
When a pet dog escaped from his carrier at an airport in China and ran out onto a road near the runway where planes were landing, airport officials decided they had to shoot him.
Ge Ge, a small poodle, was shot at Meilan International Airport in Haikou, China, after traveling from Beijing in a cage as checked baggage on Monday.
Ge Ge’s person, Ni Bin, is angry and upset. She said she found it hard to believe that her small dog could break out of its cage and she suspected someone had tried to steal Ge Ge.
The story has drawn much criticism on Chinese websites. Airport officials admit that the staff should have been trained better to catch escaped pets.
