Leopard No Match for Mighty Mouse
Joins big cat for lunch at wildlife sanctuary
Sheena the leopard tried to move the intruder away from her lunch at the Santago Rare Leopard Project in Hertfordshire, England.
But the cheeky mouse would have none of it. Holding an over-sized chunk of raw meat in her tiny paws, she just kept nibbling at it.
The slightly puzzled leopard nudged her a little more with her nose. But Mighty Mouse, approximately the size of one of Sheena’s toes, was not about to budge.
The photo was snapped last year by photography student Casey Gutteridge.
“The leopard was pretty surprised,” Gutteridge said. “She bent down and sniffed at it and flinched a bit like she was scared. It was amazing. Even the keeper who had thrown the meat into the enclosure was shocked – he said he’d never seen anything like it before.”
