Abused Pit Bull Can Stay at Hospital
Judge rules that Patrick is in good care where he is

Judge Joseph Cassini III ruled today against the Associated Humane Societies’ request to move Patrick the pit bull from an animal hospital in Tinton Falls to Popcorn Park Zoo in Forked River.
The dog will remain at the Garden State Veterinary Specialists, whose staff have been caring for him since he was found starving in a Newark trash chute.
Cassini said today that Patrick can remain there through the criminal trial of the dog’s alleged abuser, Kisha Curtis.
“Patrick is both the victim and evidence in this case,” he said.
The Associated Humane Societies had argued that Patrick belonged with them because they saved him initially and are empowered by law to arrange his adoption.
